Wallet for mom

19 Dec

For as long as I can remember, my mom has not used a wallet. Instead she uses something that could be classified as a coin purse. It has a zipper compartment where she keeps change and her credit cards, a few outside slots, one clear for an ID and few other slots where she stores bills. The one she has used forever is from Target. She is obsessed with it and has never found a suitable replacement, I have been dying to find her a really nice one for a year or two now. I have to say, I have been treated great by my parents Santa (thanks for the multiple Louis’) and I really want to give back in a big way. I’m just having trouble finding something similar. I’m staring to give up and may try to convert her to a wallet like a real person. I’m open to any suggestions you may have!

Tory Burch Robinson Envelope Wallet – $225

Kate Spade New York Wallet – $175

Kate Spade Cobble Hill Stacy Wallet – $125

I think I’m just going to go for it and hope she likes it.

16 Dec

The other day when I posted this post here I never imagined I would get the response that I did. Tweets, comments and emails have been blowing up my life ever since. When I found the below photo I, like all of you, instantly wanted to recreate it. However, dummy me never thought about where exactly I would get the earring. So after some internet reserach I found a similar earring..still not sure where the one in the photo came from though. If anyone else found a “love” earring out there, let me know in the comments and I will update this post with link!

Click here for a link to a similar “love” earring.

Thanks for all the love, it makes my heart warm to know so many people are actually reading my blog. I truly appreciate it 🙂

This is just a rant.

Part of my job consists of coordinating, organizing and executing events. Most of the time this is done with a team of people. For as long as I can remember I my summer job/internship/now real-life job has partly had to do with events, it’s what I love. With this experience I know how much work goes into planning even the smallest of events. Organizing a venue, creating invites, making name tags, it’s time consuming. Which is why I just wanted to give a shout out to {av} for organizing all of these Blogger Blitz’s. I was supposed to attend one last night, in Boston, but was called away to an event for work. This is the second time I have had to miss a blogger blitz, I think I am cursed. I hate missing out on fun and was so looking forward to meeting everyone in person.

This is how I feel about the sucky situation:

I was all ready for the party..and then I got stuck and left in the swing.

In happier news, remember when I blogged about these boots in Spend or Save? Well I found them for $50 at Marshalls today. Score.

Scout by Bungalow

14 Dec

I’ve been searching for a new laundry bag for a while. weird? Probably. My last one was tall and narrow (pink with white polka dots) with two handles. I had ripped off one handle about a year ago and partly ripped off the second one about six months ago. When I was packing my car to go home for Thanksgiving (which is the only place I do my laundry even though I have machines in my apartment) I ripped off the final handle. Being inpatient and annoyed, I threw out the laundry bag, not having a replacement. Stupid. So, I’ve been on the hunt.

I was strongly thinking of an extra large boat tote from L.L. Bean but their fun colors are not available until summer.

Then I stumbled on Scout by Bungalow. I found the perfect bag, it was very large and even had a zipper. Bonus. However I wasn’t sure I wanted to spend the $50 plus shipping.

I then stumbled upon their sale section and found this wonder!  A litte different but still involved my favorite colors, pink and green. Being the bargain hunter I am, I googled and found a coupon code for $10 off! So the total before shipped was only $22!

Hopefully it fulfills all of my laundry dreams.

Am I too old? Earring edition.

13 Dec

If there is one fear, anxiety or thing I hate in this word, It’s getting older. I don’t like to act older, look older or have responsibilities of said older people. If I could freeze time and be a senior in college forever, I would have.

Anywho, I also hate when I can no longer do things because they are deemed “too young” for me to be partaking in. There are a few things I have been itching to do in fear that all too soon I will be “too old” to do them.

#1. Get another piercing.

I currently have three piercings, my normal two ear lobes and another piercing about half way up my ear. That third was my biggest rebellion move of life, not even joking. {story time} My mom always told me while I was living under her roof, I was only allowed two piercings, the two I already had. I went to college freshman year and in a super cliche move, got the third piercing. I was with my mom getting a new passport photo taken when the door to the post office opened, the wind blew my hair back, and my mom saw the piercing I was trying to hide. She. Was. So. Mad. But has since gotten over it and now admits it is classy 😉

See that tiny, itty, bitty diamond stud? That is what my mom freaked out about. Sorry about the awkward, grainy, red picture…iphone.

Before I get too old, I want to get another piercing. This picture makes me really want to get my cartilage pierced and get a love earring. Thoughts? Is there an age where one is “too old” to get a new piercing?

Is this “love” earring innapro for a 23 year old working girl to sport? Ugh. Decisions.

Holiday Party

8 Dec

The season is among us, you know what I’m talking about, the Ugly Sweater Party season! While I am all for festive holiday cocktail dresses and sparkly skirts, my favorite theme is Ugly Sweater. Its super comfy and cozy and the pressure to look beautiful is never there. I usually play up the awkwardness of it and put a big green or red bow in my hair. Confession time: In the past, I have always borrowed a sweater of my mothers that don’t look that far off from the one below. Not sure why she still owns them but I’m not complaining! Head on over to visit {av} to see some more Holiday Party attire.

Boots: Minnetonka Front Lace Knee High Boots – $80 / Sweater: American Apparel Vintage – $35

Legging: J Brand – $195 / Necklace: Spike the Punch – $36

Things that make me happy today:

2. Dinner with some besties
