Fly Away

17 Feb

Today is a special day in the Friday Fancies world, {av} is linking up with Lisa from Elembee, Etc. for a travel-oriented theme. This seemed perfectly appropriate since one week from today I will be on an airplane jetting off to Austin, Texas. This weekend I plan on doing some preparation shopping for the trip and creating a Friday’s Fancy is the perfect way to draw some inspiration.

I love the idea of mixing feminine and rustic touches. It reminds me of my girl, T-Swift and makes me feel like a true cowgirl.

Holiday Party

8 Dec

The season is among us, you know what I’m talking about, the Ugly Sweater Party season! While I am all for festive holiday cocktail dresses and sparkly skirts, my favorite theme is Ugly Sweater. Its super comfy and cozy and the pressure to look beautiful is never there. I usually play up the awkwardness of it and put a big green or red bow in my hair. Confession time: In the past, I have always borrowed a sweater of my mothers that don’t look that far off from the one below. Not sure why she still owns them but I’m not complaining! Head on over to visit {av} to see some more Holiday Party attire.

Black Friday

25 Nov

I have yet to cross shopping-on-black-Friday off my bucket list. We always spend Thanksgiving day, night and the day after with my whole family. Yes, one big sleep over. I look forward to it every year and as much as I love shopping, I would rather spend the day with my cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc. However, if I were to hit the stores, I know one thing for sure..I would have to be comfortable. This to me means jeggins, chunky sweaters and simple jewelry. Since this is Friday’s Fancies I had to throw in my dream Chanel bag. (I actually would give up a Thanksgiving celebration with the family for that Chanel bag!)

Think Pink

21 Oct

This weeks Friday’s Fancies is all about my favorite color, pink! I had to use self-control to not choose each item in some sort of pink hue. October is Breast Cancer awareness month and everything seems to take on the theme of pink, even the NFL. Oh hey, future husband Tom.

I think this may be my most favorite FF yet..I am so tempted to buy this whole outfit minus the fact it is FAR away from every fitting in my budget but hey, isn’t that point?

Falling for Autumn: Day 3

5 Oct

As I write this, it is raining outside which always makes me want to curl up with a blanket and cup of something warm. It also makes  me want to dress in cozy clothing, specifically sweaters. I long for this time of year, when jeans and sweaters are all you need. Once winter comes and the layers and snow boots comes into the picture – not so much. Just one more reason why I love fall…

In the third post on all the reason’s why I love’s is dedicated specially to comfy, cozy sweaters. Here are just a few of the hundreds many I need want.

The Cozy Side of Fall

23 Sep

Every day is starting to feel more and more like fall and  I couldn’t be happier. Fall is by far my most favorite season. It involves some of my favorite smells (wood stoves burning, pumpkin, apples) favorite temperatures (sweaters, leggings and boots with no coat required) and some of my favorite holidays (Thanksgiving and Halloween). I am excited to put away my sandals and pull out my boots or buy some new ones and begin dressing for this perfect season with a pumpkin Latte in hand of course. Check out my Friday’s Fancy below and head on over to visit {av} to see even more!

Go Blue and White

16 Sep

This weekend I am walking in the Jimmy Fund Walk with five other besties. It is the same route as the Boston marathon, 26.2 miles. The walk is on Sunday and I am a little worried for how I am going to manage getting around the office on Monday. I have a feeling I am going to need some coworkers to push me around in my rolley chair. It’s been keeping me up at night, worrying about how out of shape I am and if I am going to be able to survive this walk. I know I will be able to do it but I am honestly worried about if my legs will allow me to move on Monday morning. I am not sure who scheduled this walk but I am pretty sure it should have been on a Saturday not Sunday. Oh well.

This week Friday’s Fancies theme is Game Day attire which makes me so excited. I love school spirit and I love dressing in themes which makes this extra fun and special. The college I went to was more about wearing school apparel (i.e. tshirts and sweatshirts) as opposed to dresses and themed clothing so I am taking this chance to make a cute game day outfit. My college colors (and elementary, middle and high school) were blue and white…Enjoy!

A Weekend Full of New and Old Friends

9 Sep

I am so excited for this weekend. For starters, it is Rendez-Vous New England! I never actually thought this day would come..but it is here and I can’t wait to finally meet all my lovely blogger friends in person! My old roommate is also having a housewarming party at her new rooftop patio and I can’t wait to see her new space and hang out with some besties. I know, as always, it is going to go by way too fast and next week will be here before I know it.

For this weeks Friday’s Fancies I decided to go with a perfect “party outfit” for fall. One that allows you to feel the warm evening breeze while still looking chic and polished. I would image wearing this outfit to either the house warming party this weekend or the evening spent with the Rendez-Vous attendees.

Weddings on my mind

26 Aug

Today I am linking up with {av} from Long Distance Loving for Friday’s Fancies. This week’s theme is “wedding attire” which seemed super appropriate since wedding’s are the only thing on my mind as of late. I dream of having my wedding in early fall, think first week in October, and while I could day-dream ALL day about what I would wear as a bride, I decided to create a look for a guest at my beautiful wedding.

I do not want the wedding to be too casual or too formal, a perfect mix would be ideal. Think blazers and khakis, cocktail dresses and fun shoes. My main focus would just be for everyone to have fun, however, if given the chance, I would dress every single one of my guests. Crazy? Maybe a little.

Weddings on the mind

5. Kenneth Jay Lane Aqua stone cocktail ring

6. Kenneth Jay Lane Earrings, Weave
