About a year ago I came across a Milly blouse on Piperlime that I just had to have but at a price tag of $298 it seemed impossible. Each coupon I received via email from Piperlime I debated buying the shirt. It was perfect. I could imagine myself wearing it everyday so at 20% off, the price tag of $238 was totally worth it, right?
I watched the shirt move from new arrivals, to just an average shirt, then to sale. SALE. Could I afford it now? No, it was still close to $200. I don’t know if I have ever lusted over a shirt like I did this one. I thought about it daily and always wondered how I would move some money around to afford it. Rent isn’t that important.
Then the shirt disappeared from Piperlime. A few months later it showed up on a flash sale site (I can’t remember which one) and it was $99! I was about to put it in my cart when I realized it was now October and I would have to wait a few months to wear this summary shirt.
I took all these incidents mentioned above as signs that me and said shirt were not meant to be. I cried a little and moved on.
Then the unthinkable happened. About two weeks ago I walked in Old Navy because I had heard they had some great new pieces. I was wandering around when all of a sudden I looked up and right in front of my was this shirt:
I almost dropped dead.
It’s a little different but at less than $30 it doesn’t matter.
You can bet this baby came come with me.
I guess the saying “Good things come to those who wait” is true.
