Spring Break Fashion

9 Mar

Recently I’ve been seeing a multitude of tweets and facebook status’ regarding Spring Break. Feeling almost see-through because I am so pale and sitting in cold New England, there is nothing I would love more than to still get a spring break.

I would do anything to be laying on a beach right now, soaking up the rays and sipping on a delicious bevy.

But instead I am sitting at work dreaming of blue water.

Sigh.

If I were to be so lucky to go on spring break you can bet your tan line I would be bringing along the following items.

1. Blue Life Sexy Dress – $110

2. Lilly Pulitzer Sandy String top and bottom  – $48 each

3. Banana Boat SPF 15 – $6.49

4. Kendra Scott Petra Bracelet – $135

5. Tory Burch Ella Tote – $225

6. Ray-Ban Aviators – $150

Wallet for mom

19 Dec

For as long as I can remember, my mom has not used a wallet. Instead she uses something that could be classified as a coin purse. It has a zipper compartment where she keeps change and her credit cards, a few outside slots, one clear for an ID and few other slots where she stores bills. The one she has used forever is from Target. She is obsessed with it and has never found a suitable replacement, I have been dying to find her a really nice one for a year or two now. I have to say, I have been treated great by my parents Santa (thanks for the multiple Louis’) and I really want to give back in a big way. I’m just having trouble finding something similar. I’m staring to give up and may try to convert her to a wallet like a real person. I’m open to any suggestions you may have!

Tory Burch Robinson Envelope Wallet – $225

Kate Spade New York Wallet – $175

Kate Spade Cobble Hill Stacy Wallet – $125

I think I’m just going to go for it and hope she likes it.

Spend or Save: Riding Boots

13 Oct

With Autumn here it is time to break out the boots; suede, ankle and my favorite, riding boots. While trends might vary from season to season, boots will always be in style. In my opinion they are a staple in one’s wardrobe and I can justify spending more than I normally would on one item. However, that doesn’t mean I am able to drop a few hundo’s on a boot. Especially when I live in New England and the road salt has a tendency to r-u-i-n boots. In my world, boots can not only be a staple but also need to be replaceable.

I fell in love with these Tory’s instantly..I mean duh, how could you not? But at almost five hundred smackers, they are far away from fitting into my boot budget. Imagine my surprise when I saw these beautiful Anne Klein boots while strolling through Lord and Taylor. I couldn’t try them on fast enough.

Things that make me happy today:

1. Drinks with friends after work

2. Motivational speakers

3. Today is the 13th, my favorite number

The Cozy Side of Fall

23 Sep

Every day is starting to feel more and more like fall and  I couldn’t be happier. Fall is by far my most favorite season. It involves some of my favorite smells (wood stoves burning, pumpkin, apples) favorite temperatures (sweaters, leggings and boots with no coat required) and some of my favorite holidays (Thanksgiving and Halloween). I am excited to put away my sandals and pull out my boots or buy some new ones and begin dressing for this perfect season with a pumpkin Latte in hand of course. Check out my Friday’s Fancy below and head on over to visit {av} to see even more!

If I could only choose one hobby for the rest of my life, I would have to choose shopping. Some people may argue that shopping is not a hobby but the way I shop, it is. I spend most of free time engaging in activities that are somehow related to fashion and shopping. Whether it is reading a magazine, browsing stores online, window shopping, or reading other blogs with fashion advice, it somehow just always consumes my life. I thought I had already learned about all of the “cool” places to go online for everything fashion. However, today I learned about a new amazing tool.  It is called Polyvore. You can shop on all your favorite sites and pull outfits together. (Added bonus: you can even add a Starbucks cup!) I find my style is often evolving so this is really fun to try different combination’s and experiment. Recently I have found myself being attracted to Marc Jacobs, Kate Spade, Free People, and Tory Burch. So here it is, my first attempt…
