1 Piece 3 Ways

Tomorrow morning at 5AM a car will be arriving at my doorstep to bring me to the airport for my flight to Austin. I am so excited to visit my friends but can’t remember the last time I had to wake up at 4:30 AM.

Woof.

During my lunch break yesterday I quickly ran over to Old Navy to see if I could find some last minute goodies to bring on my trip. Mission accomplished. Old Navy is amazing right now, I wanted nearly everything. One of the pieces that I picked up was this sleeveless trench. I have had my eye on for a while but wasn’t sure if it was something I wanted to add to my wardrobe.

Since it was on sale, I figured why not?

My rule is to style each piece I purchase three different ways which was simple since I can imagine this sleevless trench is a multitude of different outfits.

My 3 favorite things all in one place

If you have been reading my blog for any amount of time, you know my heart has a soft spot for both Taylor Swift (here, here and here) and Zac Efron (here, here). In my perfect world she would be my best friend and he would will be my husband.

When I first heard they were doing a movie together, I felt mixed emotions. I didn’t want my husband macking on my best friend. That would just be weird and ultimately cause me to dislike one of them. Then I found out it was actually a cartoon and they were probably not even recording at the same time.

Phew. Sigh. Relief.

A cartoon may not be my first choice for a movie but you can bet I will be seeing this one opening weekend.

 

Then, somehow, the story got better. Enter muh gurl, Ellen. If there was one person I could trade lives with, it would be Ellen DeGeneres. She can instantly make me laugh and is always finding the most incredible hidden talent (ex: Sophia Grace and Rosie). Well check out this video from a recent show when my three favorite people came together:

She can drop the “couple” comments though. We all know his heart is saved for moi.

The 7th grader in me is smiling

Remember when you were younger (for me, circa early teens) and American Eagle was one of the coolest stores? I haven’t thought about shopping there is many years. I felt I had out grown the styles and fit of the clothes.

Well this past weekend I happened to stumble in there and found some super adorable pieces that I need to scoop up for spring.

Fly Away

Today is a special day in the Friday Fancies world, {av} is linking up with Lisa from Elembee, Etc. for a travel-oriented theme. This seemed perfectly appropriate since one week from today I will be on an airplane jetting off to Austin, Texas. This weekend I plan on doing some preparation shopping for the trip and creating a Friday’s Fancy is the perfect way to draw some inspiration.

1 Piece 3 Ways

Back again this Thursday for my favorite new series, 1 piece 3 ways. Not familiar with this series? Check out all the info here.

Today’s piece, is actually two; . I have been lusting after these for a while but couldn’t justify buying them. I kept wondering if they were really practical or more on the trendy side. Working 40 hours a week, I have to be careful with purchasing ‘trendy’ pieces as most of them are not appropriate for the corporate setting. However, styled correctly, any piece can be made office appropriate you just have to be creative.

Following my own rule and mentally styling each new addition to my wardrobe in 3 distinct settings (work, casual and date night) I decided to tackle these boots to see if they could fit into my life. Well my friends, they do.

Someone once told me “I love, love” and the quote has always stuck with me. Celebrating love to me doesn’t necessarily have to be a romantic thing, it is just about being thankful for all the people in your life who you love. That’s not to say sharing this romantic day with a special someone wouldn’t be amazing but Zac Efron was busy today so maybe next year…

Tonight me and the roomies are going on a date. Dinner, The Vow and exchanging small gifts? Yup, the day couldn’t get much better.

So whatever it is you are doing today, do it with a heart full of love.

My Weekend Instantly

This weekend was full of fun and family. The highlights were:

1. The Bruins won after overtime and a shoot out
2. I am still stuffed from our Italian dinner

Pink and Red

This weekend is going to be full of love. Love for my family that is. My cousins, aunts, uncles, parents and brother are coming to visit for the weekend. Saturday we have a full day planned of going to the Bruins game followed by a delicious dinner in the North End. Bring on the pasta. I’m very excited to see them all and experience the city like a tourist (something I rarely do).

Tonight can’t come soon enough.

If I were to pick a favorite color it would hands down be pink so imagine my excitement when {av} announced that this week’s Friday Fancy was themed around pink and red.

A Wearable Room: Canopy Stripe

Canopy stripes are one my most favorite things. I am instantly drawn to them in many forms. Whether it be a fabric, a phone cover or a piece of scrapbook paper, you can bet canopy stripes are not too far away.

When I first saw this picture, I was smitten with the crisp white, green couch and rustic touches. This image has been in the back of my mind for a while and when I saw the dress below I knew I had to use the room as inspiration.

Happy Birthday Blog

One year ago today Sprinkles on Everything was born. Apparently I was bored watching the Super Bowl and felt an urge to finally jump into this community I had been following for months. I’m not one for birthdays (hate getting older) and even though technically my blog has been live for one year, it took me a few months to become consistent and find my voice. So in reality, I don’t feel like I have been doing this for a year…yet.

So today I just want to focus on the simple fact that is has been one year.

Wow. Time truly does fly.

Thank you to all my loyal followers. Your tweets, comments, emails etc. mean more to me than you will ever know. I hope to continue growing, learning and loving this amazing blogging world. It truly is an amazing place and we are all lucky to be a part of it.

While people on the outside may not always understand the bond we share…we all know the truth..we are the lucky ones.
